Lift, O God, Your burden from me, for my burden has exhausted my soul and my body
Remove, O God, Your burden from me, for I am wearied by a portion of my burden
I heard Your prophet calling out” “Cast your burden upon the Lord, and He will sustain you””,
and I heard You crying out in the streets “”Come unto Me, all ye that labour, and I will give you rest”” and calling out
So I came to You hastening, rejoicing, that You might lift it from me.
But You burdened me, O God, for You placed Your burden upon my shoulder along with my own
So my pain and my grief increased
I am in despair, O God
I came to You that You might lift it from me, but with Your burden You weighed me down
Weighed down, O God, by but a part of me, so You exhausted my whole self
Wearied by my burden, so You became my entire concern
Exhausted by my direction, so You became the One toward whom I turn
What is to be done, when You are the Lifter of every burden and every weight?
And You are the One who said: Come unto Me, all ye that labour, and I will give you rest from every burden
Yet You neither raised me up nor gave me rest
So I ask You, O God:
Is there anyone who can lift my burden from You, and Your burden from me?
Come, O Lord, let us make a covenant:
You lift the whole of my burden, then You place me above my burden
And I lift Your burden above my whole self, and Your burden becomes my burden
