I Love You, O Lord

I loved You, and Your love flowed like a river that overflows

Is my heart a sea? How, O Lord, can my heart contain Your pouring love?

I adored Your face, and it inclined toward me, illumining my face

I lost my mind to the fire of Your love, and the direction of the people of the way went astray from me.

To which god shall I betake myself if I do not find the way to You?

Is the way to You, perhaps, my heart? In it I meet Your wondrous face

Light my path in You; are You not the light, and You the way?

I walked on my way, and Your cross appeared; beneath the cross Your blood flowing.

I touched Your cross, and my palm blossomed.

I love You and I fear Your forsaking me, for I have no beloved intercessor besides You.

My life has been lost; shall I find, in Your hands, a life to replace it?
