The word “yatalammadh al-ka’s” (to be discipled by the cup) has become current on tongues, to denote the act of eating what remains of the holy Communion in the Liturgy, where the priest devours what remains in the cup after the end of the Liturgy. But this word is wrong; the original is “talammatha” (to lick), and perhaps it was said “talammatha” for ease of pronunciation. The correct word is “talammatha.” il-tamathahu: means he threw it into his mouth quickly. il-tamatha the thing: he ate it. The word “talammatha” occurs, for example, in the book of Saint Ephraim of Katounakia.
